One person in our Mastermind group, Jim, does all four of these objectives by sending a “Daily Insight” or quote out to the group every day. As I complete my planning process and goal setting for 2011, I have reviewed all of the year’s Daily Insights as a source of inspiration. Of the hundreds I have reviewed, below are 10 Insights that cover a variety of topics that have personal meaning to me. I hope these Insights offer some inspiration to you as we get ready to start a new year.
Accomplishment: “One day in retrospect the years of struggle will strike you as the most beautiful” – Sigmund Freud
Accountability: “There is no such thing as can’t, only won’t. If you’re qualified, all it takes is a burning desire to accomplish, to make a change. Go forward, go backward. Whatever it takes! But you can’t blame other people or society in general. It all comes from your mind. When we do the impossible we realize we are special people.” – Jan Ashford
Attitude: “No matter what you’re doing, try to work at that task like it’s your dream job.” – Russell Simmons
Change: “Men are anxious to improve their circumstances, but are unwilling to improve themselves; they therfore remain bound.” – James Allen.
Determination: “Fall seven times and stand up eight.” – Proverb (origin Japanese)
Expectations: “High expectations are the key to everything.” – Sam Walton
Fear: “Don’t be afraid to give up the good to go for the great.” – John D Rockefeller
Legacy: “When a man dies, if he can pass enthusiasm along to his children, he has left them an estate of incalculable value.” – Thomas Edison
Humility: “No matter how bad someone has it, there are other who have it worse. Remembering that makes life a lot easier and allows you to take pleasure in the blessing you have been given” – Lou Holtz
Passion: “The core problem is not that we are too passionate about bad things, but that we are not passionate enough about good things” – Larry Crabb
Have a safe and happy holiday season!
